Listserv Mailing List
The class has a listserv mailing list set up. The name of the list is
WMA109-L and it is hosted on uconnvm.uconn.edu. Every member of
the class will be automatically signed up for the list upon filling out the
and is expected to participate in the discussions.
Be aware that replies to messages posted on the list will by default be sent to the entire list. If you want a message to go only to a specific individual, make sure you address the message to that individual's email address.
Quizzes and Examinations
There will be two or three hour long examinations during the course of the
semester, along with a number of quizzes (both announced and unannounced),
graded homework assignments, problem sets and group projects.
Each quiz and graded homework assignment will be worth 10 points. Each examination will be worth 100 points. The final examination will be worth 150 points.
Students who are interested may download a collection of sample questions from previous semesters' exams and quizzes. Note that the collection is incomplete, redundant and does not contain solutions. The collection is in PDF format and requires software, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, able to read PDF files. The size of the download is approximately 180K.
The first examination is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28.
Final Examination
The final examination for the 8:00-9:15 class is scheduled for Monday, December 12, 2005, 9:00-11:00 a.m.
The final examination for the 9:30-10:45 class is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14, 2005, 9:00-11:00 a.m.
The final examination will be comprehensive,
covering material from the entire semester.
If bad weather forces a postponement, an announcement will be made on various radio and television stations. If I find out in time, I will also send out an email and post the information here.
