    Meeting Times

    Section 31: MWF 8:00-9:10 a.m.
    Section 32: MWF 9:30-10:40 a.m.

    This class will not meet on Monday March 12 and on Wednesday, April 4.

     Calculus, James Stewart, Fifth Edition

    Listserv Mailing List

     The class has a listserv mailing list set up. The name of the list is WMA115-L and it is hosted on listserv.uconn.edu. Every member of the class will be automatically signed up for the list upon filling out the and is expected to participate in the discussions.

    Posting a Message to the Mailing List

    To post a message to the mailing list, simply address it to WMA115-L@listserv.uconn.edu. Other than that, it may be handled the same as any other email message.

    Quizzes and Examinations

     There will be quizzes most Fridays, along with two or three hour long exams during the course of the semester. The exams will be announced at least two classes beforehand, and will probably be announced even earlier that on the class mailing list.

    Each quiz will be worth 10 points. Each examination will be worth 100 points. Each problem set will be worth 50 points. The final examination will be worth 150 points.

    Problem Sets

    There may be a number of problem sets handed out during the course of the semester. Each problem set will be worth 50 points. Specific policies regarding the completion of problem sets are available elsewhere on this web site.

    It is important to note that each set will have a due date. It is permissible to submit completed sets prior to the due date; no sets will be accepted after the due date.

    Group Projects

     There may be a number of group projects during the course of the semester. Information about those projects will be provided from this site.

    During the first class, students will work on a project involving estimating the speed of an object. This project will not be graded.

    Final Examination

    Section 31: Wednesday, May 2, 9-11 a.m.
    Section 32: Monday, April 30, 9-11 a.m.

    The final examination will be comprehensive, covering material from the entire semester.
