Syllabus: Chapters 1-5 (all section) and the first half of Chapter 6

Grading policy: there will be 5 tests in class, one after each chapter. Each chapter test contributes 20% for the final grade. Quizzes will be worth 1% each, and will be added to corresponding chapter tests. The final exam can replace up to two chapter tests. When the final grade is computed, the lowest scores are not included.

HW: read the assigned sections, including examples, and do the suggested exercises. Ask questions in class. HW is not graded.
