The Department of Mathematics Macintosh Lab is located in room M203 on the second floor of the Math Sciences Building. The lab has 26 PowerMacintosh 266MHz G3 computers. An HP LaserJet 4100DNT is available for general printing use.

Lab Policies

The primary function of the lab is to provide computer support for Mathematics courses. Its facilities are available for use by any registered UConn student, with priority given to work for Mathematics classes.

Software

The computer lab has much useful software for mathematical work, including:
  • Maple
  • Mathematica
  • Differential Systems
  • Matlab
  • True BASIC
  • HyperCard
  • Microsoft Office 98
  • Textures (TeX) Mathematical typesetting system.
  • Access

    The lab environment has been specifically designed with the teaching of our courses in mind. All of the Macintosh computers in this lab provide a consistent user interface to courseware and application software. Public access is available during regularly scheduled open hours.
