The Van’t Hoff equation produced ln(k2/1.61) = 0.55. The next line of one student’s work was k2/1.61 = 1/ln(0.55)!
An equilibrium problem on pressure change led to 1.6 = (x2 – 0.8x + 4)/(x2 + 0.8x + 2). A student simplified the right side to –x + 2!
