Topics in probability: Coupling techniques in analysis

Course description: We will study different types of couplings first. Then we will use this technique in applications to analysis. Some of these results will be of geometric nature, though no geometric background is assumed. In particular, we will study Lindvall-Rogers and Cranston-Kendall couplings, as well as coupling methods used in optimal transport.
